Description

RSO Therapeutic is a high-potency oral cannabinoid formulation developed from full-spectrum cannabis extract, standardized to contain approximately 83%–93% THC. It is intended for carefully selected adult patients who may be considering structured cannabinoid use as part of a medically supervised oncology, supportive-care, or palliative-care symptom-management plan.

Cannabis and cannabinoid preparations have been studied primarily for their potential role in helping manage certain symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatment.

Under appropriate medical supervision, RSO Therapeutic may be considered as part of a broader symptom-management strategy for concerns including:

  • Persistent cancer-related or treatment-associated pain
  • Neuropathic pain associated with chemotherapy or nerve involvement
  • Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting that remains inadequately controlled with standard anti-nausea therapies
  • Reduced appetite after other contributing causes and established treatment options have been assessed
  • Sleep disruption associated with pain, nausea, anxiety, discomfort, or treatment-related distress
  • Overall symptom burden during palliative or end-of-life supportive care

The strongest clinical support relates to the use of certain cannabinoid medicines as an adjunct to established therapies for difficult-to-control chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and pain mediation.

Evidence relating to cancer-associated pain, appetite, sleep, anxiety, functional wellbeing, and overall quality of life remains less certain. Individual responses to THC-containing preparations can also differ considerably depending on dose, previous cannabinoid exposure, age, concurrent medications, underlying medical conditions, and individual sensitivity to THC.

Safety Considerations

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) acts primarily through cannabinoid CB1 receptors within the central nervous system and can influence nausea, pain perception, appetite, mood, sleep, cognition, coordination, and sensory processing.

Higher THC exposure can also increase the likelihood of adverse effects, including:

  • Intoxication or altered perception
  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Sedation and excessive drowsiness
  • Impaired coordination and reaction time
  • Anxiety, agitation, or panic
  • Confusion or cognitive impairment
  • Changes in heart rate or blood pressure
  • Increased risk of falls

Because RSO Therapeutic contains a very high concentration of THC, dosing requires particular caution. When cannabinoid therapy is considered appropriate, a conservative approach generally involves beginning with a very small, accurately measured amount and increasing exposure gradually only when clinically appropriate and well tolerated.

Additional caution is warranted for older or medically frail individuals and for people with cardiovascular disease, or concurrent use of medications including opioids, sedatives, anticoagulants, or other drugs that may interact with cannabinoids.

Important Medical Notice

RSO Therapeutic should not be used as a replacement for established cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, or other treatment prescribed by an oncology team.

Any use of RSO Therapeutic during active cancer treatment should be discussed with the patient’s oncologist, physician, pharmacist, or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional so that potential benefits, adverse effects, medication interactions, and treatment-specific considerations can be evaluated.
