Description

RSO Therapeutic is a high-potency oral cannabinoid formulation derived from full-spectrum cannabis extract, specifically standardized to contain approximately 83%–93% THC. Furthermore, it is intended exclusively for carefully selected adult patients who are considering structured cannabinoid use within a medically supervised oncology, supportive-care, or palliative-care symptom-management plan.

In particular, cannabis and cannabinoid preparations have been studied primarily for their potential role in managing symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment. Consequently, under appropriate medical supervision, RSO Therapeutic may be considered as part of a broader symptom-management strategy. Specifically, it may address the following concerns:

  • Persistent cancer-related or treatment-associated pain
  • Additionally, chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain
  • Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting that remains inadequately controlled with standard anti-nausea therapies
  • Moreover, reduced appetite after other contributing causes and established treatment options have been assessed
  • Similarly, sleep disruption associated with pain, nausea, anxiety, or treatment-related distress
  • Ultimately, overall symptom burden during palliative or end-of-life supportive care

Notably, the strongest clinical support relates to the use of certain cannabinoid medicines as an adjunct to established therapies for difficult-to-control chemotherapy-induced nausea, vomiting, and pain mediation. However, evidence regarding cancer-associated pain, appetite, sleep, anxiety, functional wellbeing, and overall quality of life remains less certain. In addition, individual responses to THC-containing preparations can vary considerably depending on dose, previous cannabinoid exposure, age, concurrent medications, underlying medical conditions, and individual sensitivity to THC.

Safety Considerations

First and foremost, Delta-9-THC acts primarily through CB1 receptors within the central nervous system. As a result, it can influence nausea, pain perception, appetite, mood, sleep, cognition, coordination, and sensory processing.

Furthermore, higher THC exposure can also increase the likelihood of adverse effects. For instance, these may include intoxication or altered perception, dizziness or light-headedness, sedation and excessive drowsiness, impaired coordination and reaction time, anxiety or panic, confusion or cognitive impairment, changes in heart rate or blood pressure, and increased risk of falls.

Because RSO Therapeutic contains a very high concentration of THC, dosing requires particular caution. Therefore, when cannabinoid therapy is considered appropriate, a conservative approach generally involves beginning with a very small, accurately measured amount and increasing exposure gradually and only when clinically appropriate and well tolerated. Additionally, extra caution is warranted for older or medically frail individuals, as well as for those with cardiovascular disease or concurrent use of medications such as opioids, sedatives, anticoagulants, or other drugs that may interact with cannabinoids.

Important Medical Notice

Above all, RSO Therapeutic must not be used as a replacement for established cancer treatment including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, or targeted therapy. In other words, these treatments remain the foundation of oncologic care. Consequently, any use of RSO Therapeutic during active cancer treatment should be thoroughly discussed with the patient’s oncologist, physician, or pharmacist. In doing so, potential benefits, adverse effects, medication interactions, and treatment-specific considerations can be properly evaluated and more importantly, patient safety can be preserved.
